We’re pleased to participate in IACAPAP 2026 and present our study findings in the symposium “Digital triggers and emotional pathways in eating disorders”. In a changing world, young people face constant digital stimulation and social media pressures that previous generations never encountered. These inputs shape how young people regulate emotion and how they become vulnerable to psychopathology.
And this is why the clinical picture is changing. Eating disorders are appearing earlier, evolving faster, and becoming more resistant to treatment. Not because our tools are weaker, but because the amplifiers around adolescents are much stronger. We had the opportunity to discuss the intersection of these inputs to achieve more effective prevention and treatment of eating disorders in an ever-accelerating world.
There were 2,400 delegates from 114 countries at the congress in Hamburg. It was a great opportunity to meet both our colleagues from Turkiye and from other countries. We also thank MEDICE – The Health Family, the main sponsor of the congress, for their efforts in bringing the participants together through both scientific and social meetings, creating an engaging atmosphere. The next IACAPAP meeting will take place in New Zealand in 2028.
